Rare and Beautiful Creature of the day: Deux Cigales vase by René Lalique

We are in total awe of this recently surfaced Rene Lalique vase, the rare and exceptionally beautiful 'Deux Cigales'. Deux Cigales is French for Two Cicadas, cicada being a direct derivation of the latin cicada, meaning "buzzer". A tranquil vision of the noisy namesake insects, this is a standout piece by a truly brilliant artist. Thanks to rlalique.com for the tipoff!

Last weekend's POP-UP SHOP! at Pearl Wonderful in Napa Valley was too much fun. Nothing beats a weekend in Napa during harvest season... the whole town is SO friendly (we think it has something to do with all of the wine!), and the strong and supportive community of independent shop and restaurant owners makes the region that much more beautiful. A big thank you to Linda, Jen, Emily, and all of the lovely Pearl Wonderful customers for making our visit so special.
